Summary: Who knew that James Potter was so full of brilliant ideas? For two weeks in December the Marauders and Lily attempt to redefine their relationships.
Author's Notes: I had it set in 77, and the moon phase was fine. Then the beta pointed out it wasn't enough time for the characters to get themselves in the mess they're in. So I switched to 78, and only realised a day before this was due that the moon would now be on the 14th instead of the 25th, which completely messes up what plot there is. So it's still in 78, but with a 77 moon. Sorry.

author's notes: this was originally a few hundred word snippet from an abandoned fest fic which i added a lot of 'plot' to after seeing the prompt. to explain "making up for the rudeness of albus", in the original Albus basically wrote a letter to his parents saying that if he didn't let Scorpius come for the holidays he'd tell the daily prophet that Harry Potter still held a grudge against Malfoys and create a lot of unneeded drama. it had to be cut to meet the wordcount.
